Ariz. treasurer: Tax refund checks 'will be good'

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona State Treasurer Dean Martin on Tuesday offered reassurances that state tax refund checks "will be good" despite the state's budget problems.
Martin said he was responding to questions raised because two other states -- California and Kansas -- have delayed or suspended refund checks this year due to budget problems.

Martin notes that the Arizona Legislature recently approved a package of spending cuts and other changes to keep the current state budget in the black.

Martin said Arizona taxpayers "can rest assured if you are owed and receive a refund from the Arizona Department of Revenue, the check will be good."
